EPIS Framework

 

EP Ltd. has exclusive rights to the computer program «EPIS Framework» (certificate of state registration № 2013660033), intended for the design and management of large-scale information systems.

 

EPIS Framework developed on the basis of aт IBM Rational family of software solutions, recognized as one of the leaders in the field of design management in a complex, integrated production . EPIS Framework allows the design of large-scale information systems based on a single adaptable techniques of project management based on the best domestic and international experience in the IT field. Interaction of participants is provided in the framework of a common information space, getting information about the current state of development and a single point of access to functionality.

A distinctive feature of EPIS Framework is accounting, interconnection and analysis of the different requirements for the design results, starting with regulatory requirements and the relationship between these requirements and testing requirements for modification of the product, which is provided by a deep process automation design and application of advanced domestic and international standards and practices in the field project management. Requirements analysis allows one to identify significant and insignificant requirements, categorize them, to justify their appearance and spend their collective discussion and agreement. Implement automated generation of the documentation based on the requirements.

 

Today EPIS Framework is a unique automated system designed to provide an integrated development, testing and managing product design at all stages of their life cycle, including the automation and control of the design, as well as providing a unified methodology, software, technology, information and linguistic basis of project management. EPIS Framework functionality adapted to the specifics of the Russian projects in the field of information technology in various subject areas: information technology, construction, marketing, finance, etc.

 

Metadata preparing system (Expert System) was developed based on EPIS Framework. After initial analysis of the information collected in the system experts allocate the objects of information exchange, create metadata elements for structured representation of processes and interoperability of information systems and services. Expert system also analyzes and clarifies the composition of attributive classifiers and directories, and other necessary information.

 

As a result of an analysis of united information space becomes structured, expanded with more information. The key step of the design is the development of metadata and additional services, providing the necessary technological data for processing system. Properties and methods, as well as inheritance relationships, allocated from the design objects, set the basis for a single data model and used for further formalization of administrative regulation documents in terms of their performance algorithms. Elements of model are translated into sets of XSD-schemes, and the results of formalizing regulations represented as BPMN-schemes and are an integral part of the model . Simultaneously with the construction of a unified data model there is organized expert work with the collected data and structural elements that were identified.

 

Design Automation System (DAS)

 

DAS is an instrumental system for the automation project activity consisting of mutually integrated modern industrial tools of project management, unified design techniques and information support of design management.

 

DAS is based on the IBM Rational tools: Team Concert, Asset Manager, Requirements Composer, Publishing Engine, Method Composer. Also DAS uses IBM Connections, Contour BI, Microsoft Active Directory. Combining tools into a single system is achieved by the development of integration modules, standard project templates and documents, as well as interactive analytic OLAP-cubes.

 

FUNCTIONALITY DESCRIPTION

 

 

DAS provides the following business needs:

1. Organizing large amount of information in the course of project implementation. Performed by introducing project management results:

  • creating a single repository of project results;
  • ensuring categorization, effective search, conducting life cycle;
  • ensuring relationships between results, requirements and project works.

2. Reducing the impact of human factor on the processes and results of operations. Performed by formalizing processes and reporting work methods:

  • creation and description of the typical sequences of management tasks;
  • visual representation of work processes and methods on the portal;
  • description of the roles and responsibilities of participants.

3. Predictable time and project results. Performed by pre-project analysis and preparerations for the start, as well as network planning and preparation of project results:

  • definition of project objectives, risks and investments;
  • automatic creation and management of general schedule, including schedules for project results implementation;
  • monitoring and evaluation of the current state of works and results;
  • automated individual scheduling for participants;
  • ensuring relationships between works, results and the project requirements.

4. Transparent quality control of intermediate and final results of the projects and their synchronization. Performed by providing information about the current status of the project:

  • data analysis for the project;
  • creation and presentation of OLAP reports based on the information about the project implementation.

5. Relevance of the results and regulator, customer requirements. Performed by the requirements management of the project:

  • formation project boundaries in the form of regulatory requirements in sections of the goals, objectives, functions, and features of the system, and other participants;
  • substantiation requirements for the results by the normative base;
  • providing data for automatic document preparation.

6. Reducing the time of documents and reports development . Performed by automatic documents generation:

  • automatic generation of documents using standardized templates, taking into account the project boundaries;
  • ensuring compliance documents with the requirements of procedural documents and guidelines;
  • ensuring mutual consistency of documentation.

7. Operative participants communication in the project. Performed by organizing communication between participants and the exchange of information, as well as a single navigation in DAS:

  • providing a single point of access to DAS functionality through a social network;
  • providing a unified interface for navigation;
  • ensuring users communication in the forums and personal correspondence.

8. Reducing costs for automation system implementation. Performed by an automated system deployment.

 

Expert system

 

Based on «EPIS Framework» metadata preparing system («Expert system») was developed, which is used to organize interagency cooperation on the basis of semantic integration, including integration platforms for implementation, systems of prepare public services to the translation into electronic form and other platform solutions providing analysis of the processes of interaction and information exchange elements, design of metadata objects and common processes within a single information space based on a single data model.

 

Using the «Expert system» platform, based on «EPIS Framework» provides:

  • retention and recording in electronic form the law requirements, details of documents, electronic forms, services, classifiers ,participants of the business processes, operations, business processes and other information objects using agreement with the Customer, that are required to generate a united data model;
  • keeping the history of requirements changes;
  • support configuring user requirement types, attributes and types of relationships;
  • using of a named requirements relations, including hierarchical type, that fix the dependencies between them;
  • search requirements by attributes, types and relations;
  • support setting requirements representations using filtering in the tables ;
  • representing requirements relations in the form of schemes;
  • supporting verification processes and harmonize requirements using automated procedures;
  • send notification to the responsible users about the participation in the requirements inspections for e-mail;
  • support the design metadata model to develop a united electronic data model using hierarchies of objects and properties;
  • justifying metadata objects by associating them with the requirements;
  • creating and representing charts of the metadata objects transformation that are necessary for the implement of information exchange in the form of BPMN- schemes;
  • broadcast metadata objects into sets of XSD- schemes;
  • importing raw data from «Simbix.Integration portal» in XML format in asynchronous mode for expert analysis.
  • export of analysis results in XML, XSD, BPEL formats asynchronously for submission to «Simbix.Integration portal»;
  • multi user work using Web-based interface;
  • setting access rights to the functions based on user groups and user roles;
  • logging of user actions and system operations;
  • automatic logging of data import/export;
